While this is a decent book for those curious about mushroom cultivation, I would not use it as a practical guide to do so. The methods presented in these book are older (this was one of the first publications on home mushroom cultivation) and there are much newer, better, and more simple methods for those wishing to grow their own supply, such as the PF-Tek and various spin-offs.
However, this would be a good read for those curious about the botany and biological processes of mushrooms. It’s also interesting in historical context because this was one of the first books of its type. McKenna buffs might also enjoy it.
For the rest of you, there are better books like “The Mushroom Cultivator” available.
